KV Music Academy strives to educate aspiring musicians in a nurturing environment. The following online classes are offered:

Carnatic

• Beginner Series (Sarali Varisai through Geethams)
• Intermediate Series (Swarajathis, Varnams, Bhajans and Beginner Krithis)
• Advanced (Ata Tala Varnams, Krithis of various composers and Pancharatna Krithis)
• Theory lessons

Director/Owner

KV Music Academy was founded by Vid. Chitra (Krishnan) Ramabadran in memory of her parents Shri R. Krishnan and Smt. Vijaya who were connoisseurs of Carnatic Music. Chitra has received training under Late Smt. Jaya Shankar in Calcutta, renowned musicologist Late Vidwan Panchapakesa Iyer and Late Smt. T. R.Balamani in Bombay. She completed her Diploma and Post Diploma from Bharatiya Music and Arts Society, Bombay earning the title “Sangeeta Vidya Praveena”. She has won several competitions in Calcutta and Bombay, and also performed in several venues in Bombay and USA. Chitra is currently pursuing M.A. in Carnatic Music.
